I'll dominate 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair met personally to build hype for next month's bout.

Ex two-time unified title holder Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I will really want to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually known for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the novice is still one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, frequently receiving huge earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would prevent the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really happening.
